The North Carolina Tar Heels women’s lacrosse program is hoping to avenge back-to-back years of being upset in the NCAA Women’s Lacrosse Tournament.
After winning the title with a 13-7 win over No. 1 Maryland in 2016, the Tar Heels were bounced out of the tournament in 2017 as a No. 2 seed in the quarterfinals by Navy and then No. 3 James Madison in the semifinals as a No. 2 seed.
This year, UNC enters tournament play as the No. 3 seed and will take on the winner of Florida and Johns Hopkins Sunday afternoon.
UNC finished the season 15-3 overall with losses to Maryland, Boston College and Note Dame as their only blemishes.
