A strong showing in the ACC Tournament has paid dividends for the UNC Tar Heels, as their nation-leading 13 Quadrant 1 wins were rewarded with a #2 seed and ownership of the second Charlotte pod. The Heels were, somewhat confusingly, placed in the West Region, but will play their first two games in Charlotte, given, of course, that they get that far. Xavier is the #1 seed in the region, and as they are the 4th #1 seed, this means in theory that UNC was named the strongest #2 seed.
