Golden State Warriors small forward James Michael McAdoo will reportedly become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st.
The Warriors, after deciding not to pick up the former Tar Heel’s qualifying offer, will allow McAdoo to receive and sign offers from any NBA team once free agency begins.
It’s likely that the Warriors, who seem to be pleased with McAdoo’s performance over the last three seasons, are simply looking for flexibility in their roster. It’s possible that they will make an attempt to re-sign McAdoo during free agency, but won’t get a chance to match any offers if he signs elsewhere.
