CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The University of North Carolina women's soccer team has earned a first-round host game in the NCAA Division I Women Championship and will play host to the High Point University Panthers Saturday at 1 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park's Koka Booth Stadium.
The Tar Heels earned the automatic bid from the Atlantic Coast Conference after beating Duke 1-0 Sunday in the ACC Tournament championship game in Charleston, S.C. That marked Carolina's first ACC Tournament championship since 2009. The Tar Heels are 15-2-2 this season. High Point is the champion of the Big South Conference.
