It’s time to pick a player of the game for North Carolina’s 70-50 loss to James Madison on Saturday. Even if you didn’t see a second of the game, you can probably tell from that score that things were not great. After a shaky start, UNC seemingly had regrouped to take a 14-11 lead, but things spiraled after that, and the Tar Heels were never able to regain their footing, taking what arguably is the most embarrassing loss in program history.
The fact that this game can reasonably go in the “most embarrassing loss in program history” conversation should be evidence that there aren’t a ton of good candidates for player of the game.
