We are now just a little more than one week out from the start of the college football season and two weeks out from North Carolina’s Thursday night season opener against Minnesota. The Tar Heels and other teams from around the country are — or for their sake, I sure hope they are — into the final preparation stage for the new year.
One of the things that regularly happens this time of year is the various college football awards releasing their watchlists for the new season. We’ve already covered one when UNC running back Omarion Hampton was named on the Maxwell Awards’ one a few weeks back.
