Woody Allen famously said, “If you want to make God laugh, tell Him about your plans.” So it goes with Antonio Williams, the Tar Heel running back turned undrafted free agent, turned Buffalo Bill, turned Tar Heel assistant running back coach, turned Buffalo Bill.
Antonio Williams was released by Buffalo on August 5th. He was in an unfortunate situation as an UFA, having to prove himself to Bills brass without the benefit of preseason games. When he was released, Antonio returned to Chapel Hill to help Robert Gillespie coach the running backs, while finishing his degree and utilizing Carolina’s state-of-the-art facilities to stay ready for a possible call up.
