The North Carolina football program and its fans shared the same excitement last month when four-star quarterback Sam Howell announced his commitment to the Tar Heels. His most recent accomplishment is just the latest example of why the Carolina faithful have so much to look forward to next season.
Howell, a 6-foot-1, 225-pound pro-style QB out of Sun Valley High School in Monroe, North Carolina, was named Associated Press North Carolina Offensive Player of the Year on Friday.
The former Florida State pledge turned UNC commit threw for 3,240 yards and 36 touchdowns during his senior campaign at Sun Valley.
