Much ado has been made about the UNC quarterback situation for the 2024 season. After five years of Sam Howell and Drake Maye, two generational talents, the upcoming QB scenario is full of unknowns.
Being the eternal optimist that I am, I’m here to bring you some positivity.
First, while I realize that not having a clear starter to begin the season is far from ideal, at least the Tar Heels have depth at the QB position with three solid, albeit not great, options in Max Johnson, Jacolby Criswell, and Connor Harrell.
Also, regardless of who Mack Brown chooses to helm the offense, it is traditionally well-known that an inexperienced, game manager-type quarterback has two best friends, reliable “security blankets” if you will that they can count on to rack up yardage and make the extraordinarily difficult job easier for the most crucial position in sports.
