The North Carolina Tar Heels will have to wait another week for their home opener in the 2018 college football season.
UNC was scheduled to host No. 18 UCF on Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill, the home opener for the Tar Heels. But that won’t happen.
On Sunday, the university noted that it was monitoring Hurricane Florence’s path through the Carolinas and would make updates throughout the week. With the hurricane set to make landfall this week the university has made a decision on Saturday’s game.
The matchup between UNC and UCF has officially been cancelled due to Hurricane Florence, the university announced on Tuesday.
