North Carolina freshman quarterback Sam Howell just capped off his impressive first season with the program in a fitting way.
Howell was named the MVP of the Military Bowl, following UNC’s big 55-13 blowout win over Temple on Friday afternoon. The win gave UNC their first bowl victory since 2013 as head coach Mack Brown has turned things around in the first year of his second stint with the program.
A big reason for that is the play of Howell and that showed again on Friday.
Howell finished the game 25 of 34 for 294 yards passing, 3 passing touchdowns and also caught a 2-yard touchdown pass from Toe Groves.
