The North Carolina Tar Heels are coming off a disappointing loss on the road at Virginia Tech, falling to 3-4 on the year and 2-2 in conference play.
But not all is bad right now. The program is showing signs of improving and are still in contention to reach a bowl game. A bright spot for the Tar Heels has been freshman quarterback Sam Howell who has played very well through the first seven games.
With his five touchdown passes in the loss to Virginia Tech, Howell set a new freshman record for most touchdown passes in a season.
