A great running game brings out the best and worst of fandom, depending on which side of the ball you are rooting for. If your offense is the unstoppable force that just keeps driving the ball repeatedly forward, it is super fun to watch and you can feel your team’s confidence building. But if your defense is getting gashed over and over again by the run, it is maniacally frustrating and you can see your squad’s spirit being squashed.
For years it feels like Carolina football has been in the latter category. Let’s hope this season the Tar Heels can flip the script and grind out some victories.
