College football is back, y’all.
While UNC didn’t have a Week 0 game to get in on the action early, fans won’t have to wait a whole extra week to see their team in action, as UNC will open their season Thursday night rather than the usual Saturday. They’ll do so in the Twin Cities of Minnesota, returning the favor after P.J. Fleck and the Golden Gophers came to Chapel Hill last September. That game was one of the highlights of UNC’s 2023 season, a 31-13 win that featured Nate McCollum going absolutely unconscious, two interceptions by the defense, and Drake Maye’s highest yardage total of the year.
