UNC running back Omarion Hampton has been racking up accolades this preseason, and now he has earned another one: AP preseason first team All-American. The Associated Press announced their All-American teams earlier this afternoon, with Hampton being one of four ACC players earning honors.

Hampton will enter the 2024 season as the best offensive player on the roster, and the expectations that Mack Brown and his staff have for him fit the bill. Now that Drake Maye is gone, the Heels are likely going to turn to Hampton early and often to keep defenses honest and to keep them from teeing off on whoever the starting quarterback ends up being.
