Maybe it’s just me, but I hate how much of a dramatic process it can be when naming a starting quarterback this late in the offseason. It probably doesn’t matter when or how the starter is announced, but one just has to wonder how much of a quarterback battle it really is sometimes. Remember when Drake Maye, the NFL first round draft pick, was allegedly in a tight battle with Jacolby Criswell before ultimately earning the job? All I’m saying is that it feels like a lot of unnecessary drama, yet here we are again in the same place we were in just a couple of years ago.
