The North Carolina Tar Heels were able to reclaim the Victory Bell with a win over rival Duke on Saturday afternoon in Chapel Hill, keeping them alive in the Atlantic Coast Conference Coastal Division. While it was a big win for their bowl and division chances, the win also had some major significance.
With the 20-17 win, Mack Brown made some Carolina history.
The head coach became the program’s all-time passing former head coach Dick Crum on Saturday afternoon. Brown’s 73 wins are now one more than Crum’s 72:
