New University of North Carolina head football coach Mack Brown has made his first official hire to the coaching staff.
On Tuesday, Jeff Tarpley of Gigem 247 reported that Texas A&M tight ends coach Tim Brewster was leaving the program and returning to UNC to join Brown’s staff. He becomes the first coaching addition in Brown’s second stint has head coach at North Carolina.
Brewster began his coaching career as an unpaid assistant under Brown at UNC in 1989 and was hired the following season. He coached at UNC until 1997, serving as a special teams coach, tight ends coach and even a recruiting coordinator.
