Former University of North Carolina quarterback Marquise Williams will be back on a football field in early 2019.
Williams was drafted in the second round of the new American Alliance of Football league (AAF) “Protect or Pick” quarterback draft on Tuesday. He was the eighth pick of the second round, and went 16th overall to the San Antonio Commanders.
Williams last played professionally in the Canadian Football League as a member of the Saskatchewan Roughriders during the 2017-18 season. He was a member of the Green Bay Packers organization in 2016, but was released from the team during final cuts before the season began.
