The North Carolina Tar Heels are preparing for their Military Bowl matchup with Temple in a week as they finished the regular season 6-6. UNC is going back to a bowl for the first time since 2016 with Mack Brown starting to turn this program around in his second stint.
A big reason why UNC got to 6-6 and started 2-0 was the play of freshman quarterback Sam Howell.
The former four-star recruit flipped his commitment from Florida State to North Carolina on Early Signing Day in 2018 and the rest is history. Howell set a few records in his first year at UNC including the most passing yards per in a single season.
