The North Carolina football program has lost a pledge from the class of 2020, as 3-star defensive end Sean Martin rescinded his commitment to the Tar Heels. Martin made the announcement via his personal Twitter account on Thursday night.
The 6-foot-6, 260-pound lineman committed to the Tar Heels in mid-June, choosing North Carolina over Duke, NC State, Penn State, Virginia, Virginia Tech and West Virginia. The Nittany Lions and Mountaineers, along with the Tar Heels, were considered the heavy favorites in his recruitment. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Martin flip to either Penn State or West Virginia, or potentially take another look at Virginia Tech.
