The North Carolina Tar Heels took care of Charlotte this past Saturday, 38-20, to move to 2-0. Although the 49ers managed to cut it to eight points in the third quarter, the Heels immediately responded with a touchdown and ultimately pulled away. The tone was set in the first quarter with a 30-yard pass from Conner Harrell to Bryson Nesbit, which had a little extra significance.
Though just his first of the season, the reception marked Nesbit’s eleventh career score, setting a UNC record for touchdowns by a tight end. He passed his former teammate, Kamari Morales, who previously set the record in October of 2022 against Duke.
