Even in the games that the North Carolina Tar Heels have won of late, it’s often hard to come away happy with everything that happened. The UCLA and Notre Dame wins both required late, semi-miraculous comebacks. The one over Campbell was not remotely enough of what you’d hope to see against a low-major opponent, etc.
On Tuesday night, UNC hosted SMU and while it wasn’t perfect, the Tar Heels finally played a game that they mostly controlled from start to finish.
Led by 26 points from RJ Davis, Carolina spent all of the second half and a good chunk of the first up by double digits, and were never really threatened by the Mustangs.
