The fourth-ranked Tar Heels trailed 2-0 at halftime, but pulled to within one score on a Lauren Moyer goal less than three minutes into the second half.
UNC played good defense throughout the second half and worked tirelessly to create scoring opportunities on the offensive end of the field. After several unsuccessful shot attempts, the Tar Heels scored on a Megan DuVernois goal with 7:24 remaining in the game.
“Our whole halftime speech was, ‘You’ve got tot believe, we have to know we can do this,” fifth-year senior Emma Bozek said. “And then we came back and tied up the game.
