Back to the North Carolina Tar Heels Newsfeed

UNC falls to FSU 5-9 in elimination game of the College World Series

For the past few games, Carolina’s superb pitching has been able to let the rest of the Tar Heels ride their back all the way to Omaha. The offense has struggled, only scoring more than four runs ones since their 6-2 win over LSU in the Chapel Hill Regional two weeks ago. But thanks to the starting pitching and the bullpen, the Diamond Heels always seemed to be able to weather the storm until they could get a timely hit that would win the game.

It’s finally bit them these last two games. On Sunday, they never had an answer for a Tennessee squad still buoyed by their thrilling walk-off win over Florida State.
