WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – North Carolina has played two field hockey games this spring and the end has looked the same in both: UNC 2, Opponent 0.
After a win over Louisville at home on March 5, the Tar Heels earned a road win on Saturday, beating host Wake Forest 2-0 behind a pair of first-quarter goals by junior Erin Matson. (Matson also had both goals in the win over the Cardinals.)
UNC is now 12-1 on the season heading into a home game on March 19 against Boston College.
As in the win over Louisville, both Tar Heel goals came before halftime.
