CARY, North Carolina - The No. 8 North Carolina men’s soccer team played to a 1-1 draw with 24th-ranked South Carolina on Monday night at Koke Booth Field at WakeMed Soccer Park.
Tar Heel freshman Mauricio Pineda scored the equalizer in the 13th minute to answer an early goal from the visiting Gamecocks by Kevin Walker.
Walker Hume fed Pineda in front of the goal connecting with a header to make it 1-1.
It was a family affair for two sets of brothers in the match. The aforementioned Hume and his twin bother, fellow red-shirt senior Tucker Hume, played together for the first time as Carolina teammates since joining the program from Rollins College in 2014.
