UNC got off to a strong start in ACC Tournament play on Wednesday as they jumped out to an early lead against Notre Dame and never looked back on their way to a 76-56 victory. It was a very different game from when these two teams met in South Bend earlier this season when the Irish were an errant roll away from beating the Tar Heels.
Carolina led for all but 24 seconds of the game. Notre Dame never led. The Tar Heels came out hot behind Jae’Lyn Withers who just could not miss from long distance in his hometown of Charlotte.
