The Tar Heels defeated a stubborn West Virginia squad 2-1 in yet another thrilling game at Boshamer Stadium. Vance Honeycutt was the star of the game with a leadoff homer on the game’s first pitch, then a bunt single that started a two out rally in the third where he came around to score, and made several stellar defensive plays in centerfield to help the Tar Heels hold onto the tedious lead.
