The 2019 recruiting class for North Carolina was an interesting one.
Point guard Jeremiah Francis was the first to commit to the program’s 2019 recruiting class back in August of 2017 as a four-star player. A year later in August of 2018, the Tar Heels landed five-star center Armando Bacot.
After a long wait in between players, it felt like things had turned for the better. But over the coming months, UNC would be shutout as prospects like Josh Green, Jeremiah Robinson-Earl and Wendell Moore picked other programs over the Tar Heels. UNC remained involved with five-star combo guard Cole Anthony but you’d be lying if you were at least a little nervous he was going elsewhere.
