One of the top high school basketball prospects in the class of 2019 is down to just five schools, and planning official visits to each.
Vernon Carey, Jr., a senior at University School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, cut his list of schools in half just before summer, and is now deciding between Duke, Kentucky, Miami, Michigan State and North Carolina.
The 6-foot-9, 245-pound power forward visited Michigan State in February, and has already scheduled visits with Kentucky and Duke this fall. Now, he’s looking to lock down dates with Miami and North Carolina prior to making a decision.
