College basketball coaches had just one opportunity this month to scout the high school players on their recruiting boards, and that came during the July evaluation period last week.
One of the top players at the Under Armor Association finals over the weekend was Bryce Thompson, a 6-foot-5, 175-pound prospect from the class of 2020. Ranked 20th in the class, the 5-star prospect is one of the fastest rising amateur players in the nation, recently jumping up 36 spots from his previous position in the 247Sports Composite.
Arkansas, Houston, Kansas, Michigan State, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Texas and Texas A&M are all in the mix for a Thompson commitment, and it appears that his recruitment is still wide open.
