Former McDonald’s All-American and North Carolina basketball standout James Michael McAdoo is headed to Turkey on a one-year deal with Besiktas Sompo Japan, the Turkish club announced on Thursday.
A two-time NBA champion, McAdoo spent three seasons with the Golden State Warriors and their G-League affiliate in Santa Cruz. In 108 games with Golden State, McAdoo averaged three points and 1.7 rebounds per game while shooting nearly 53 percent from the floor.
He signed a two-way contract with the Philadelphia 76ers in 2017, but spent most of the season — all but three games — with their G-League affiliate, the Delaware 87ers, before getting waived in January 2018.
