Hubert Davis and his staff put in a lot of hard work this offseason to rebuild a roster that lost Armando Bacot, Harrison Ingram, and Cormac Ryan. Those three pieces were critical to UNC’s success during the 2023-24 season, and Davis had to find a way to field a team in 2024-25 that could at least compete for an ACC title. Now that we are in July, ESPN seems to think that the Heels can do more than compete for a conference title according to their latest way-too-early top 25 rankings.
When we checked in with ESPN in May, the Heels were ranked eighth in the country.
