North Carolina freshman center Armando Bacot scored 22 points and pulled down 14 rebounds, notching his second consecutive double-double, and guiding the Tar Heels to a 75-61 victory over the Elon Phoenix on Wednesday night.
Bacot hit 9-of-14 shots on the night, and 4-of-7 from the free throw line, while adding two assists, two steals, three blocks and just one turnover. He had just set his career-high in both points and rebounds the prior game when he had 12 and 11, respectively, against UNC-Wilmington.
Junior power forward Garrison Brooks added 14 points and six rebounds for the Tar Heels on a night that superstar freshman point guard Cole Anthony couldn’t buy a bucket.
