Cameron Johnson scored 21 points and pulled down seven rebounds as No. 1 seed North Carolina topped 16-seed Iona 88-73 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament on Friday night.
Johnson started off slow, but hit 7-of-13 shots from the floor, and 4-of-8 from three-point range. He dished out four assists to just one turnover, and knocked down all three of his free throw attempts.
UNC freshman reserve Nassir Little scored 19 points on-9-of-13 shooting off the bench, while senior forward Luke Maye added 16 points and nine rebounds for the Tar Heels, who outscored the Gaels by 20 in the second half.
