The North Carolina Tar Heels men’s basketball team traveled to Raleigh, North Carolina on Wednesday morning to meet with members of the General Assembly as well as Governor Roy Cooper at the Executive Mansion.
The House and Senate scheduled a joint session to honor the Tar Heels’ players and coaches after winning the 2017 NCAA Tournament last month.
Cooper, the 75th Governor of the state of North Carolina, was born in Nash County, North Carolina and received his doctorate at UNC.
Before their meeting with the North Carolina legislature, the Tar Heels spent time at the Executive Mansion with Cooper, shaking hands and posing for pictures.
