Taylor Koenen scored a game-high 26 points on a terrific 11-for-17 shooting performance, and North Carolina beat Clemson by a final score of 86-72 at Carmichael Arena on Sunday night.
Koenen knocked down 4-of-8 from three-point range, while adding seven rebounds and six assists for the Tar Heels. Junior center Janelle Bailey added 23 points and nine rebounds, and Madinah Muhammad scored 14. Malu Tshitenge and Shayla Bennett both scored nine points, while North Carolina got just five points from its bench.
The Tar Heels shot 50 percent for the game, and hit 8-of-22 shots from beyond the arc.
