The University of North Carolina men’s basketball program will visit the state of Nevada for the second time in three seasons when it headlines the 2018 Las Vegas Invitational.
It’s also the second time in as many seasons that North Carolina and Michigan State have the opportunity to meet in a Thanksgiving weekend tournament. The two teams met in the finals of the Phil Knight Invitational (Victory Bracket) last season where the Spartans put an 18-point beat down on the Tar Heels in Portland.
North Carolina’s last visit to Las Vegas ended in a thrilling 103-100 defeat to Kentucky that set the stage for one of the most memorable Elite 8 games in recent history.
