Janelle Bailey scored 16 points, and was one of five Tar Heels to score in double-figures on Thursday night, as North Carolina beat Virginia 65-47 in Charlottesville. The win improved North Carolina to 11-2 on the season, and 2-0 in Atlantic Coast Conference play. Virginia, on the other hand, fell to 5-8 overall, and 0-2 in ACC competition.
Bailey hit 7-of-12 shots for the game, and 2-of-3 from the free throw line. She added five rebounds, three steals, a block and an assist in 38 minutes of play. Senior guard Madinah Muhammad added 11 points, five rebounds and four assists for the Tar Heels, while Shayla Bennett, Taylor Koenen and Malu Tshitenge each scored 10.
