UNC Basketball: Tar Heels roll in penultimate non-conference game

Cameron Johnson scored a game-high 17 points, and the Tar Heels beat the Davidson Wildcats 82-60 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

After a disappointing loss to the Kentucky Wildcats at the CBS Sports Classic in Chicago last weekend, the Tar Heels came out looking stagnant in the first half of Saturday’s game. They scored just 39 first half points, and led the game by 11 at the intermission.

It wasn’t until the second half that North Carolina began to look like a more tenacious, cohesive unit. Despite the increased energy level after halftime, the Tar Heels shot just 44 percent for the game, and hit only eight of their 23 attempts from three-point range.
