ESPN’s Joe Lunardi released his 22nd Bracketology of the season on Tuesday, and his latest projections feature a shake-up among the tournament’s top seeds.
Duke, Virginia and Gonzaga all remained 1-seeds in Lunardi’s newest bracket, but former projected No. 1 seed Tennessee has dropped from the top line after losing two out of its last three games — one to Kentucky and the other to LSU.
Thanks to the Volunteers’ decent from the 1-line, the Kentucky Wildcats have moved from their previous position as a 2-seed, to the bracket’s fourth 1-seed. Kentucky’s move to the top line was one that had been anticipated for some time, riding a hot streak that has the Wildcats in a tie for first-place in the SEC and winners of 13 of their last 14 games.
