After being one of four finalists in the race for Santa Clara transfer target Trey Wertz, the North Carolina Tar Heels learned their fate on Saturday.
Wertz announced that he would be transferring to Notre Dame on Saturday afternoon, ending his new recruitment once and for all. The decision came just a few days after he cut his list down to four teams: North Carolina, Arizona, Butler and Notre Dame.
The Charlotte native announced his decision to transfer a few weeks back and right away received dozens of calls from programs interested. He narrowed down his list three times from 11 to 7 to 4 before finally making his decision.
