Vernon Carey, Jr. scored a team-high 25 points on an 8-for-11 shooting performance and 9-of-11 from the free throw line, and Duke beat North Carolina 89-76 at Cameron Indoor Stadium on Saturday night.
Sophomore point guard Tre Jones scored 21 points, and dished out 11 assists, while Cassius Stanley added 19 points and six rebounds. Senior forward Justin Robinson, who averages just 2.1 points and 1.1 rebounds for the season, had a surprising 13-point outburst to go along with six rebounds, three assists and four blocks. He also knocked down 4-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Duke improved to 25-6 on the season, and 15-5 in Atlantic Coast Conference play.
