Since last season ended, one of Carolina’s biggest goals has been to secure a true center in the portal to help alleviate the loss of Armando Bacot. Hubert Davis and his staff showed interest in a number of targets but they all ultimately committed elsewhere. They did manage to land Vanderbilt’s Ven-Allen Lubin, a 6-8, 230-pound forward who’s more comfortable at the four but could be used as a five. However, the player most implicated by all of this is returning junior big man Jalen Washington.
After spending the last two seasons playing spot minutes behind Bacot, Washington is set to take on a much bigger role.
