Roy Williams finally pulled the trigger on one of the top prospects in the 2019 class, extending a scholarship offer to five-star shooting guard Josh Green. TarHeelIllustrated was first to break the news.
The Australian-born Green is entering his senior season at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, and he’s one of the best overall players in class of 2019. According to Green’s high school coach, Sean McAloon, he had been hoping to hear from the Tar Heels at some point in his recruitment, stating that he “has always wanted to be on the UNC radar”.
McAloon, who coached former UNC standout Ed Davis at Benedictine, was actually the one who initially reached out to the North Carolina coaching staff to inform them of Green’s interest in the program.
