North Carolina’s Roy Williams may have finished third in the Coach of the Year award for the Atlantic Coast Conference but he has the chance to win a national award as head coach.
On Monday, just hours after it was revealed that Tony Bennett was named the ACC Coach of the Year, Williams was named a semifinalist for the Naismith National Coach of the Year. Williams is one of 11 coaches that were named a semifinalist by the Atlanta Tipoff Club.
The head coach will look to win for the first time in his tenure at UNC.
