R.J. Davis’ phenomenal senior season at Archbishop Stepinac continued on Saturday night, as the 4-star UNC basketball signee led his team to the 2020 CHSAA Archdiocesan title over rival St. Raymond Boys.
“This game was real personal,” Davis told the Rockland/Westchester Journal News. “I felt like it wasn’t just a championship game. The game proved to New York that we’re the best team in the CHSAA.”
Davis just missed another triple-double in the 73-68 victory, finishing the game with 18 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists. That those numbers seem rather pedestrian compared to a handful of other games that Davis has had over the past few months speaks to the kind of senior season that he’s had.
