Saturday’s showdown in Chapel Hill between the North Carolina Tar Heels and Notre Dame Fighting Irish is in jeopardy.
Due to a water shortage in Orange County, the game maybe postponed to a later date.
On Friday a state of emergency was declared for Chapel Hill Orange Water and Sewer Authority (OSWASA) customers.
The city’s water supply levels reached very low levels after a shutdown of the Jones Ferry Road Water Treatment Plant. Water supplies in OSWASA storage tanks are running out due to a fluoride problem.
A major water main break also occurred on the Northwest side of Chapel Hill on Friday morning.
