Before the college basketball season started, University of North Carolina senior Luke Maye was named the preseason Atlantic Coast Conference Player of the Year and was on some award watch lists.
But as the season enters the month of December, Maye has been nominated for another award that counts for both on and off the court.
On Friday, Maye was one of 30 men’s basketball student-athletes selected as nominees for the 2018-19 Senior CLASS Award. The annual award is given out to a NCAA Division I senior that has notable achievements in four key areas both on and off the court: community, classroom, character and competition.
